The city building genre remains a popular staple among mobile gamers, and the first quarter of 2021 has shown interesting trends for the top games on iOS in Europe. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how these games have performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

SimCity BuildIt, published by Electronic Arts, has seen a consistent revenue stream throughout the quarter, with peaks reaching over $150K in the last week of January and a dip to around $89K in the first week of March. The game experienced its highest downloads, approximately 45K, in the week of March 15th, while weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 411K in late December and dropping to 349K by the end of March.

Another title from Electronic Arts, The Simpsons™: Tapped Out, also exhibited a steady revenue with a notable spike of around $90K in the first week of January. Downloads for the game remained stable with a slight decrease from 24K in late December to around 16K by March end. The weekly active users showcased a modest decline, starting from 356K and ending the quarter with 325K.

Game Insight's The Tribez: Build a Village, originating from Russia, showed a significant increase in revenue from $17K at the end of December to over $30K in the last week of March. Downloads saw an impressive jump, particularly in mid-March with over 8K downloads, while active users rose from roughly 11K to over 16K during the quarter.

Social Quantum's Megapolis: City Building Sim, another Russian publisher's creation, witnessed fluctuations in revenue, peaking at $20K in late January and settling around $17K towards the end of March. Downloads saw a peak of around 11K in mid-February, but tapered off to approximately 7K by the end of March. Weekly active users started at 28K and saw a slight decrease to 25K over the quarter.

Lastly, Trailer Park Boys Greasy Money from Eastside Games, based in Canada, had its revenue climb from $12K to around $15K by the close of the quarter. Downloads peaked at around 3.5K in late January but saw a decline to 1.5K by the end of March, while active users experienced a gradual decrease from 6.5K to 6.7K over the same period.
